From the Greek word; akkismos, "prudery," and is a derivative of akkizesthai, "to feign ignorance."

i am simply a fox who wants to not want her grapes.
but then again; Aesop made me that way.

EDIT: A DD? oh my goodness! ugh. I don't really know how to respond to this without using expletives! I submitted myself a while ago because this page has been a bit dead and didn't think that i would get anything but WOW. THANKYOU ! ! ! ! !

this sounds weird but I can't find your real name on your profile and it would be so helpful if I could so I could feature your art in my AS level art coursework, thanks!

This is wonderful. I love the use of the pink and orange against the blue. I also love how clean the strokes are. I love how realistic the painting is. In short, I love everything about it. :)

Very lovely; I thought this was a photograph at first glance, but upon closer view I was thrilled to see it was a painting. (Delish oils, no less). While texture in paint application is usually candy to the eyes, your choice to leave this smooth works well with the content of the piece. You've handled the representation of the hair masterfully.

Haha, no shit! I'm serious. It weird-ed me out to see it as a DD because I was going to look it up anyway!
It was first block so we didn't really have the most enthusiastic answers ever (except for me) but we all commented on the mood that the piece has. I said that the blue colors gave it a melancholy mood with the exception of the traces of red/pink/orange in the hair. That, I said, gave it instead a more intense, creepy feeling when coupled with the stare. We also enjoyed the motion within the piece--how you can see the woman just pick up her head and stare at you.
My teacher asked us how we speculated that it was created (since we've been talking about double exposure, and everything has been in black-and-white up to this point). I stated that the background was painted, and that the picture(s) were painted on top of. Out of curiosity, am I close?
