200513 // flesh on flesh on flesh by menteurmenteur 200513 // flesh on flesh on flesh by menteurmenteur
edit: thankyou for the daily deviation!
if you want to look me up on facebook, it is

under the name menteurmenteur on facebook here
i also have a tumblr under the name
menteurmenteur also

there’s a hushed rapid thunder of people

swirling around my limbs
olympia’s hand in mine
the gravity taken out of my $10 soles
floating violently in youth

and this time -
i smell of insecurity,
isolation,
fresh breath gum (professional practice mints),
cigarettes
and jerky limb movements in dark spaces

it doesn’t take me long in this state to find a mirror of “the classical ideal”
my very own vitruvian boy
close to my vehement, purple-hued fingertips
"plaster on a honey-tempered smile and claim him", she says
the wisteria trails down my back, matching each digit faithfully
"the classical feminine"
and i know i am his match

i turn to him - he walks away as though i’m nothing
and swerves to build flesh on flesh.
there’s an aching sort of heavy in my gut

pulling me down into the dirt
and under the feet of the surrounding
that’s why he’s gone - he couldn’t see me
from this far down

i’ll repair it at 3am when the light is too bright and the heaviness is out of me, slurring
"they did this to you"
"they did this to you"
no.
you
did you
to yourself

I love all of your work.  Art is the most expressive way of being able to speak when words are not sufficient.  I can feel that in your work.  Love it.

It all reminds me somewhat of Eliot.

La Figlia Che Piange

Stand on the highest pavement of the stair --
Lean on a garden urn --
Weave, weave the sunlight in your hair --
Clasp your flowers to you with a pained surprise --
Fling them to the ground and turn
With a fugitive resentment in your eyes:
But weave, weave the sunlight in your hair.

So I would have had him leave,
So I would have had her stand and grieve,
So he would have left
As the soul leaves the body torn and bruised,
As the mind deserts the body it has used.
I should find
Some way incomparably light and deft,
Some way we both should understand,
Simple and faithless as a smile and a shake of the hand.

She turned away, but with the autumn weather
Compelled my imagination many days,
Many days and many hours:
Her hair over her arms and her arms full of flowers.
And I wonder how they should have been together!
I should have lost a gesture and a pose.
Sometimes these cogitations still amaze
The troubled midnight, and the noon's repose.

                                                             ---T.S. Eliot---
